We all are craving a change. Whether that be a change of scenery, pace, or just in our Tik Tok feed, we are all itching to make some updates, and that includes our hair. Now while we may want to get scissor-happy and give our hair a chop, there are other ways that you can give your hair an update without the scissors. Here are some of our personal favorites for you to try.
Bantu Knots

When you think of Bantu knots, you probably think of it as a way to get poppin’ curls without the heat and damage that may come from other styling methods. But, Bantu knots are the style of the year! With salons still being closed in some places and everyone taking advantage of at-home haircare, this style will not only keep your hair protected but is a fantastic throwback to the 90s, which is popular in hair and fashion right now.
To put your personal touch to this style, you can get creative with the parting, add extensions in unique colors, and play with the size of the knots.
Box Braids

Box braids are a classic style that you really can’t go wrong with having in your hair. You can play with the braids’ length, color, and size to make them fit with your style. Something to be aware of is that even though this is a protective style, you still need to take care of your hair while it’s in it. Some tips we suggest are:
- Use hair oil to massage the scalp and give some relief to the first-day braid tightness. We suggest using our Rejuvenating Hair Oil for this.
- Remember to scrub your hair. While we like to think a protective style means minimal care, a build-up occurs on your scalp. So take a rejuvenating shampoo and conditioner to give your hair a refresh.
- DO NOT KEEP THEM IN TOO LONG. Keeping your braids in may be more convenient, but it can cause damage to your hair.
Top Knots

If you love the sleek and classic bun style, give it a little edge by taking it up to a top knot. While you may think that it’s a bit basic of a style, there are a couple of ways that you can put a twist on this ballerina classic. If you want to let your curls out, you can take out a few curls to frame your face if you have a looser curl pattern. You can braid up the back of your hair into the top knot for a bit of a boho look, or you can keep it sleek and sassy. This style is perfect for the summertime, especially if you have a habit of relaxing at the pool or splashing in the ocean waves.
Space Buns

We are taking a chapter out of Gen Z’s book and embracing the out-of-this-world style of space buns. If you are looking to take your style up a notch, this is the perfect look for you. Whether you want to keep it sleek and sassy or let your natural curls and texture show, this is for sure a style that you can rock year-round. This is also a style that works well with others. For example, if you’re rocking box braids or passion twists, styling them in space buns will give the look fantastic texture and interest!
